Photobiomodulation (PBM) or Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) has been investigated as an new treatment option for stroke and traumatic brain injury. More over LLLT has been shown to have a neuroprotective effect, while regulating several biological processes. Light with the appropriate wavelength can penetrate several tissues, including both the scalp and skull, and reach into the brain. Several clinical and preclinical studies have shown that this process can lead to an improved recovery from stroke and traumatic brain injury.
